ScanSafe e-Labels — Print & Download
ScanSafe e-Label — Print & Spec Sheet
Four production variants of the ScanSafe "e" QR label. Every variant scans to axlescansafe.com — the difference is the background, and therefore where each one belongs.
- Print at 100% / Actual Size — turn off "Fit to page". Each label below then comes out true 4" × 2".
- The dotted outline marks the label edge; the dashed box is a safe cut margin.
- On a RuggedJet 4" printer, the White variant prints directly onto 2" × 4" die-cut media (rotated). Inverted Black, Clear, and Safety Orange need pre-printed stock.
- Outdoor placements: pair with weatherproof polypropylene media.
White
What's different: black on solid white — the reference QR format. Maximum contrast, reads on every scanner, every phone, every lighting condition. The default when you're not sure which variant a site needs.
| Background | Solid white |
| QR polarity | Standard — dark code on light ground |
| Scan notes | Universal; safest choice for legacy scanner fleets |
| Best surfaces | Office doors, binders, laminated sheets, indoor equipment |
| Stock | Any white label media — thermal-printable in-house |
Inverted Black
What's different: the whole label flips — white artwork reversed out of a solid black field. On white walls and bright metal panels the black badge pops where a white label vanishes. The QR itself is inverted, which phones handle fine but some older dedicated scanners don't.
| Background | Solid black |
| QR polarity | Inverted — light code on dark ground |
| Scan notes | Modern phone cameras: yes. Legacy hardware scanners: use White instead |
| Best surfaces | Light walls and doors, stainless / aluminum panels |
| Stock | Pre-printed only — thermal can't produce the solid black field |
Clear
What's different: no background at all. Black artwork on transparent film (checkerboard below = transparency), so the mark floats on whatever it's applied to. Goes anywhere light and solid-colored — but a QR needs contrast, so keep it off dark or busy surfaces.
| Background | Transparent (alpha PNG / clear vinyl) |
| QR polarity | Standard — inherits the surface as its ground |
| Scan notes | Apply over light, solid surfaces only; the surface is the contrast |
| Best surfaces | Glass doors, windows, light painted panels, over existing signage |
| Stock | Clear vinyl / film; also the right source file for docs & web |
Safety Orange
What's different: black on safety orange (#F05F22) — built to be spotted across a yard, not just scanned up close. Matches jobsite safety signage so crews already know where to look. The variant for equipment that lives outside.
| Background | Safety orange #F05F22 |
| QR polarity | Standard — black code on orange still scans reliably |
| Scan notes | High visibility at distance; verify scan after heavy soiling |
| Best surfaces | Heavy equipment, gates, sea cans, check-in points, safety stations |
| Stock | Pre-printed color on weatherproof polypropylene for outdoor life |
